Text by Fanny Hauser

Raphael Pohl’s „durch den bäcker wurde ich zu einer pause überredet“ manifests itself as an assemblage of readymade objects that are radically repurposed by the artist and deprived of their original function. Consisting of a sack barrow without wheels, a shelf, and four white plastic cups that have been turned upside down to serve as pedestals for two burned mini-baguettes, Pohl’s work is fueled by personal associations and makes visible the temporal dimensions of labor, artistic production, and material.
